Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the XVI ISA Congress, which will be held in the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires, Argentina November 11 to 14, 2026. Held every two years (one every four years as a joint Congress with ESA), the 2026 ISA stand-alone meeting will bring together distinguished strabismologists, pediatric ophthalmologists, orthoptists, researchers, and industry members worldwide.
This congress will be particularly special as we celebrate the organization’s 60th anniversary of its founding in 1966 in Giessen, Germany. ISA is the only world organization exclusively dedicated to studying and researching Strabismus and Binocular Vision.
This event promises to be a great opportunity for all practitioners in the fields of strabismus and binocular vision to come together and share knowledge, exchange ideas, and explore the latest developments in these areas. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise, connect with global leaders, and be part of groundbreaking advancements that will shape the future of our Subspecialty.
Our scientific program committee is designing an outstanding program. I’d like to invite you to contribute your expertise by submitting papers.
This congress will provide an excellent platform for participants to engage in lively discussions and debates and help establish enduring friendships.
Please mark your calendar and stay alert for more details. I look forward to welcoming you to this event and spending some marvelous time together.
With warm regards,

Andrea Molinari, MD
ISA President
Dear colleagues from all over the world,
It is my privilege to welcome you to the XVI International Strabismological Association (ISA) Congress in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 11-14, 2026 !
In this meeting we will celebrate the 60 th anniversary of the foundation of the ISA with an attractive scientific programme that will comprise the most recent developments in the area of strabismus, ocular motility, binocular vision and amblyopia. Our medium sized meetings are the perfect occasion to discuss different topics of interest through the presentation of outstanding papers, and the opportunity to learn new concepts at the symposia and lectures given by eprominent colleagues from different continents.
As is our tradition in Latin America, the social aspects are of tremendous importance at our meetings, and this one will not be an exception. We will have a captivating social programme in different venues throughout these four days. Buenos Aires is cosmopolitan and walkable city, whose eclectic architecture shows itsa clear European roots, and boasts plenty of tourist and cultural attractions. As the birthplace of Tango music, “milongas” and Tango shows are must-do visits in our city.
November is springtime in Argentina and is a a great time to visit our country, which has a vast geographical and climate diversity. From the subtropical Iguazú falls in the northeast or the desertic multicolored mountains in the northwest, to the glaciers in the very south of Patagonia or the vineyards in Mendoza, our country invites you to travel through breathtaking landscapes and to try the excellent food and wines from each region.
Our local organizing committee, formed from the Argentinian Council of Strabismus (CAE) and the Argentinian Society for Pediatric Ophthalmology (SAOI), that fully support this
congress, are confident that this will be a highly successful event making great memories to treasure. See you soon in Buenos Aires!
Cordially
